Most people suck, its not about race. We're all equal opportunity assholes sometimes. In fact, even before DEI we were trending in a more accepting direction. Human rights are civil rights. Love is love.

I grew up in a multicultural community with T.V. shows representing all walks of life. The media is telling us that we live in a racist world. Yeah some people are dicks, but mostly we can be polite when it counts and come together as a community.

I remember having debates in k-12 school about the ethics of burning an American flag. This was meant to represent either the respectful way of retiring a flag, or the most disrespectful act of burning a flag similarly to book burning.

We saw 9/11 live as it was happening, and were old enough to have clear memories about the event. This was before common core math. Hate speech IS protected speech. Any regulation on 'their' speech will impact OUR speech, YOUR speech, MY speech.
