Modern laptops being too thin is part of the problem. We can fit DVD/CD drives, and they should be hot swappable with different components for users who don't want that. We had it figured out 15 years ago.
Because they take up fucking half of the entire volume of a laptop just for a feature that not even a fraction of one percentage of people would ever use.
