"#OJPACData from the U.S. Census compared employment among men ages 20-64 in New York City, in the Hasidic enclave Kiryas Joel, and statewide. At 75%, Kiryas Joel outperformed the Bronx’s 68.7% but was slightly below the statewide 76.8% and Queens’s 79.7%"

This data set flies in the face of the lies, innuendo and generalizations that anti-Hasidic bigots spread against Hasidim. #YeshivasWork whether @brianmrosenthal, @errollouis and @RJackson_NYC like it or not. https://t.co/B9Di1CN3IZ

The @JCRCNY joins the @ADL in condemning the tone of @nytimes articles against Hasidim. In the past, criticism would come largely from us, @AgudahNews and @UnitedJewish. However, leaders in the broader Jewish community are seeing the problem and are speaking up.

Home selling prices in the Lower Hudson Valley (multiple counties north of NYC) rose most between 2014-2018 in neighborhoods where Hasidim moved to. https://t.co/YhNb0UxC3f #OJPACData

"Hasidim don't work." "Hasidim work but earn little because they are undereducated." "Hasidim earn BIG bucks but they are 'fake poor' because it's a cash economy." "Hasidim are poor because they have large families" Some Facebook pages have all 4 claims in the same post!

Hasidim own properties, "they are rich greedy landlords." Hasidim use some social services, "Hasidim are poor." (Well, every community has people on all sides of the economic spectrum, but it's Hasidim so every complaint goes even the contradictory ones.)

Hasidim use social services, "oh no, they suck the system dry." Hasidim have an unprecedented network of charity orgs (which help reduce the reliance on many gov services), "oh no they only help their own."

Hasidim stay in one place "oh no, they overdevelop." Hasidim move into new areas "oh no, they are taking over." Hasidim mind their own business, "they are insular." Hasidim shop at malls and go to entertainment places, "they are everywhere."

Since this is the third time in a row that I’ve witnessed major anti-Semitic behavior from @JFKairport staff— especially but not only TSA— I’m going on a rant about it.

Thread 🧵 on corporal punishment in Yeshivas: As a kid, I was one of the best (if not THE best) boys in my class (at least during Judaic studies). Yet even I was hit numerous times. One time, my teacher in 2nd grade smacked me so hard that I & my metal desk fell over sideways.

AUDIO! ADMISSION by @nmoster, founder of anti-Hasidic hate group @yaffedorg: Corporal punishment "is not sanctioned by the Yeshiva. It's not Yeshiva policy that we should beat up kids." Yet, a few allegations were presented by @elizashapiro @brianmrosenthal as Yeshiva policy.

In a sick twist, @byjayroot distinguishes Modern Orthodox Jews from Hasidim but in the same article turns to a MO Jew who piles on with a negatively broad and misleading comment about Hasidism.

"Nearly half of all NYC public school graduates who head to local community colleges are  forced into remedial classes to survive their first semester." Those are students who A) graduate high school and B) attend college. @BloomfieldDavid @errollouis https://t.co/V7UjP0esQP

Amid chronic absenteeism, widespread grade inflation, and a failure to prepare students for introductory college classes, city school kids are being shoved through an educational revolving door.
