We are excited to host our annual GoSafer Training on October 11, 2025 at the Wayne County Regional Training Facility! We also offer virtual training modules that can be completed online and accessed 24/7.

Our training, the first of its kind in the nation, offers education and experience to firefighters and first responders in Ohio on the natural gas and oil industry - teaching common practices, references, and standards.

This week, Charlie and Hope are at the Ohio Fire Chiefs' Association Officer Development Conference in Columbus sharing information about our GoSafer Training with fire service professionals!

As part of this experience, our teachers took part in a ‘digging for fossils’ activity to learn more about how geological history and science connect to our essential industry! . For more information, click here!

Last month, to celebrate this rich history, we hosted geology teachers at our free professional development workshop and field trip last month.

The poster, created by the Ohio Geological Survey, depicts a small fraction of the once-living animals that inhabited Ohio during the Late Ordovician period! These historical ages help to explain why Ohio has the rock and shale formations that we see today!

Today is International Rock Day! . It’s hard to imagine that Ohio was once submerged beneath a subtropical sea full of marine life - even resembling the geography of the modern-day Bahama Islands.
