Our second course today was Staff Development. This is an open course we run a few times of year with no set content. The day is built from the request from the students. So we had a huge list today including drill, presentation skills, and a full mock officer interview

Our first course today was a Blue Space Course. 11 cadets and a staff member, explored the syllabus using both practical and theory. They look at the solar system, the moon, orbits, layers of the atmosphere and how the universe was formed.

Today saw two courses on the Training Weekend. We had cadets completing their Presentation Skills, whilst we had a Staff Method of Instruction also going on. Great discussion, lots of different topics, and an amazing atmosphere.

Our second “What is it” poster, there to help cadets know what the courses are. The when - is in general when it is done, all too often cadets rush through using qualifications trying to get as many done as quick as possible. Take your time and enjoy the journey!

Blue courses are the foundation—everyone should aim for them. If you’re inspired, move to Bronze and higher for specialist insights. The ‘when’ is an indication of where in your cadet career to do it—all too often cadets rush to complete them all. Take your time enjoy the journey

When I first became uniformed staff being an Officer wasn't on my Radar - I wanted to be a Drill Instructor, and was working on the NCO courses. Life changed goals changes, and 9 years ago I completed by Officer Initial Course. Sometimes challenging, but no regrets!

A slight change in plans today as we did a shorten drop in session for the Bronze Idea. This allows cadets access to the Squadron laptops, as well as staff for any bits they are particularly stuck on.

A very busy and successful day on West of Wing NCO Skills Day today. They covered drill, cadet portal, discipline, welfare and inclusion, uniform, and more. A fantastic group of cadets with well thought out questions, and good discussions.

Our new uniform aide memoirs are on route, these focus on the areas that we want the cadets to focus on with their uniforms, often brought up during inspections. They are A5 so they can be on hand when needed.

Looking forward to doing some trial music nights for the Squadron over the summer, its something we've wanted to do for a little while (previously just part of projects and we had some new projects) . At the moment only for our cadets but we shall see how it goes!

in lines of latitude, so you have a globe with lines. Unpeel the orange and flatten it - an voila we have Grid North, with a snack 2/2.

Needed to change up how we taught types of North as its a common one that gets mixed up on exams. So we took a leaf out of the scouts book and used an orange! They start by drawing lines connecting the top and bottom, and find True North, then we discuss magnetic fields, add 1/2
