Many junior NHS staff from ethnically minoritised backgrounds face bias from their managers. They are often denied training, sidelined for promotions, and over-scrutinised. Complaints of unfair treatment are dismissed or met with silence.

A 2022 RCN survey found that over 50% of Black and minority ethnic nurses who faced racism chose not to formally report it. This silence is often driven by mistrust in internal complaint systems and lack of visible accountability.

Together we rise, divided we fall β€” unity is our strongest call. In every ward, in every role, let equality be our shared goal. End the silence, break the chain β€” no place for racism, no more pain. A just NHS begins with us β€” one voice, one fight, one purpose.

The bullying, harassment, and bad treatment I have received have left me scarred forever. They've made me look at nursing in this country from a very different perspective, and the mere thought of spending the rest of my life as a nurse in this country makes me anxious.πŸ”ˆ

The NHS still reflects colonial power. White voices lead, while others are silenced. Black and minority nurses are sidelined. Qualified, yet denied the chance to rise. Racism is not in the past β€”.It’s built into the system today.
