One week ago, my dad went to LA Comic Con dressed in a Superman suit he had since I was a kid. It was the most fun he’s ever had the most beautiful thing I’ve ever watched. Can’t stop thinking about it.

Using the HUGE iPad Pro I got for Christmas, I read Kirby: Genesis by Kurt Busiek, Alex Ross, and Jack Herbert from @DynamiteComics. It was a glorious story that was a lot of fun and fired up my imagination, remind me of the power in the Jack Kirby dreams and aesthetic. Adore it.

The Human Target ended oh so perfectly. Last page gave me chills and my heart broke alongside Ice’s. Hands down one of my favorite comics ever. Congratulations to @TomKingTK @SavageSmallwood and Clayton Cowles for creating such an awesome series with the cool Christopher Chance.

I love art. I love writing. I love creativity in all its forms so much, but I hope I never become the kind of person who cares about it more than actual people. Getting out in the desert really helped me reevaluate my goals and what I want to do for my art and for others.

My pitch for an DC Elseworlds is a one-shot crossover between War of The Worlds and Golden Age Batman. Imagine the guy in the purple gloves using gadgets/cunning to take down Martian Tripods! . The way Mars launches its cylinders is specifically described as a gun too.
Elseworlds returns with a lineup of all-new comic series starring DC’s greatest heroes in fantastic settings far beyond the DC Universe. This exciting new era begins in June with BATMAN: GOTHAM BY GASLIGHT – THE KRYPTONIAN AGE, and new series launching monthly.

For April Fool’s Day - The War of Jokes and Riddles by @TomKingTK @mikeljanin @claymann and June Chung. Just as funny and heartbreaking as I remember. An epic drama of Batman and his villains, with Kite-Man soaring high above them. Read the beautiful narration in Conroy’s voice.

Unless you work for DC Comics, caring about the public perceptions of corporate properties is such a silly thing to do. Even more so if it leads one to “criticize” excellent comics filled with passion and craft that became popular and successful for a reason lol.
I've criticised the impact both of these runs have had in the past, and it isn't because 'popular thing = bad'. It's because I genuinely think they did long-term damage to people's perceptions of what both the Justice League as a concept and Hal Jordan as a character 'should' be.

Reading Hulk: Gray by Tim Sale and Jeph Loeb and it’s a very moody melancholic series. Adore how Sale draws the Southwest desert. Critics have brought up Bill Mantlo as a major influence on Immortal Hulk from Ewing/Bennet, but I see a lot of their motifs starting their play here.

Heroes Reborn by Jason Aaron and Ed McGuinness answered this and it would definitely be Superman. Doom is defined by masculine insecurity and wants to be top dog more than anybody. In DC, a world defined by strength of will and myth, who’s more top dog than Superman?
