I find it kinda funny how Texas outlaws phones in classrooms; right at the same time they sneak the requirements of the Ten Commandments being posted, and forcing students to only go by their legal name. Kinda weird how that works out huh… right as Texas hits a teacher shortage.

I will add; the Nuclear Regulatory Commission(NRC) played a large role in studying tornadoes in the past!! Including this event; mainly to gather a basis to build reactors which are safe from possible tornadic impact. Makes sense when explained, but still a unique history fact

The total event lasted for an hour and thirty minutes; with 6 tornadoes touching down. There was radar imagery of this outbreak as well despite being in the early days of weather coverage. There was also a recording of tornadic occlusion, before we fully understood the process

One of the most underrated tornadoes of 1974 is easily the 8/30/74 Ash Valley KS tornado, and the associated Great Bend Outbreak. Studied by Dr Fujita himself; they used photogrammetry of *dust* to conclude the location of subvortices and even the windspeed of the tornado. (Cont)
