Following on from tonight's announcement and in line with guidance, all Rivers schools will be closed to ALL pupils tomorrow (Tues 5th Jan) to support planning for provision for the rest of this half term. Further details will be communicated by individual schools tomorrow.

Penguins and Seals class finished our winter topic today with a virtual chat with a real life explorer! We asked lots of great questions and listened to what Andy the explorer did on his amazing trips! I think we’ve inspired a few more explorers for the future!

We are teaching the children how to become brilliant learners through story.. each virtual assembly we add a new book to our repertoire, and discuss how we can apply the lessons learnt through the story to our own learning. Today’s was ‘Have a go Joe!’ @RiversTsa @Rivers_MAT

This week in Year 1 Maths we have been looking at comparing numbers exploring the vocabulary greater than, less than and equal to. We have used autumnal objects to support our concrete learning.... if we had waited a bit we might have used giant hailstones as well! @Rivers_MAT

Penguin and Seals classes this week! We have been reading The enormous crocodile, we’ve had great fun making Roly Poly bird masks using our cutting skills! We’ve created puppet shows and even did some initial sound writing in our phonic sessions! It’s only Wednesday! What next?

It took a bit of organising and we needed a load of individual spoons.. don’t try and tell us we can’t manage a socially distanced sports day... all bubbles took part, but never mixed. Well done children who were patient, cheered and won/lost with grace and humour.@Rivers_MAT
