Additional capitation, provided through the Access and Inclusion Model (AIM), will increase by 10 percent. This will directly benefit early learning and care services who support children with disabilities to access and participate in mainstream pre-school settings.

Minister for Children, Disability, and Equality @NormaFoleyTD1 today announced she will make additional funding available to support children with disabilities access State-funded preschool.

The Department of Children, Disability & Equality gets a record €7 billion in Budget 2026, with €3.8 billion for disability services, a 20%+ increase year-on-year. Meaning more: 🟢Respite hours 🟢Residential places 🟢Adult day services 🟢Pay for staff 🟢Childcare subsidies

This brings the overall figure allocated to the Department of Children, Disability and Equality in Budget 2026 to €7.04bn, which is a 15% increase on Budget 2025. Read our press release:

Another €1.48bn has been allocated to Early Learning and Childcare funding in Budget 2026. The allocation for @tusla, stands at €1.336bn.

Many people struggle to swallow large pills because they trigger the gag reflex, feel uncomfortable and cause throat tension.

This supports the delivery of services to make life better and fairer for children, disabled people, and others who face inequality or discrimination. This year’s budget sees over €3.8 billion allocated to Disability, just over half of all funding allocated to the Department.

Minister for Children, Disability and Equality @NormaFoleyTD1 and Minister of State with responsibility for Disability @1Hildegarde have announced the Budget 2026 package.

This includes 150 more staff for Children’s Disability Network Teams, who provide vital therapies for children. There will also be funding to improve the financial stability of voluntary organisations working in the disability sector, who have faced rising costs.

This year, we are recruiting over 1,000 extra staff in the disability sector. Next year, with the support of Budget 2026, we will hire another 945 staff, bringing the disability workforce to almost 23,600 by the end of next year.
