When starting a company, ease of incorporation matters. Some countries let you incorporate online in 1-2 days for under $100, so you can launch quickly. Elsewhere, months of paperwork and high fees can bog you down. Less red tape = more time to build your business.

Corporate income tax (CIT) is a tax on a company’s profits. Running your business through a company can save you money: corporate tax rates are often lower than personal rates, especially if you incorporate in a low-tax country.

Sole proprietors are taxed personally in their country of residence. A limited company, however, is taxed where it’s incorporated. In other words, a nomad can incorporate their business in a low-tax country to legally cut taxes.

It’s completely legal to reduce your taxes by moving abroad – many entrepreneurs & expats do it. The key is following the rules and getting help from experienced partners (tax advisors, lawyers, etc.) to ensure it’s all done by the book.

Territorial tax benefits nomads: income earned abroad isn’t taxed locally. You could pay 0% legally, keeping more of what you earn. In Próspera, for example, residents aren’t taxed on freelance work done outside the country.

Territorial taxation = a country taxes only income earned within its borders (foreign income is exempt). If you live in such a country, your overseas earnings are tax-free locally. Examples: Panama, Costa Rica, Malaysia, Hong Kong.

Nomads often rely on private global health insurance (e.g. Cigna) that covers them worldwide. In a country with mandatory public healthcare, becoming a tax resident means you must pay into its system even if you mostly use private insurance.

Combine citizenship and tax residency strategically. For example, keep an EU or British passport for travel freedom, but become a tax resident of a low-tax country to reduce your taxes. It's totally legal, and many nomads do it. @nomadlayer

Tax residency ≠ citizenship. Except for the US (which taxes based on citizenship), most countries tax you only if you reside there. This means you can be a citizen of one country but pay taxes in another – a fact global nomads use to their advantage.

Tax residency isn’t about citizenship. It’s where you’re legally required to pay taxes. You gain it by meeting a day-count or ties test, and lose it by leaving. @ProsperaGlobal will soon be launching a new Lump Sum Tax Program for modern nomads. Want it set up remotely? DM us!
