This here is why I love discussing things between different lores, anyway, that is actually very similar to how it works. However, the Night is still so much more than just that as it can just... swallow the entire world into absolute nothingness and it keeps going, it festers.
This reminded me of a HC I had where If Knull or someone else using the Abyss to its fullest extent killed someone, there wouldnโt be a soul left behind. The entire person is just gone โ both in physicality, concept, and mind.

Exactly that except it's got it's own twist considering the Abyss from DS is actually maddening until it hollows it's victims whereas the Night just... is nothing. You feel nothing. There is nothing. You become nothing. Which is why there is NOTHING in the domain of Nightlords
