Why do you see hexagons at some of your favorite nature locations--Giant's Causeway, Devil's Postpile, Icelandic beaches?? Because nature loves a hexagon. https://t.co/wkunuVtqsc

Iceland and Ireland are linked in unexpected ways. For example, the geological process that shaped Northern Ireland are the same as those we find in Iceland today--so maybe Iceland will one day look like the Antrim Cost (in about 65 million years or so).

We've been told there's only one 9-sided and one 3-sided column at the Giant's Causeway in Ireland. Anyone out there every find it on a visit??

Bats 🦇 have an amazing immune system that protects them from diseases that quickly kill us ☠️. But this doesn’t mean we should fear them—There’s lots we can learn from these nocturnal superheroes.
Bats are the suspected sources of viruses responsible for many global outbreaks. Scientists are working to understand why viruses that endanger humans often don’t make bats sick:

Did you know... You'll find 2 prominent hotspot tracks in the US: one involving a plate with thin oceanic crust (Hawaii), and one with thicker continental crust (Yellowstone). Both are associated with volcanic activity at these locations! https://t.co/snBjmePkpI

Happy #AsteroidDay2023, the annual remembrance of the Tunguska event in 1908 when a meteor leveled 2,150 km2 of forest in Siberia. A reminder of the power and destruction asteroids bring, and that we need scientific study to make sure we don't suffer the dinosaur's fate! 🦖☄️❌
