Think about it. The Epstein files were going to come out no matter who won in 2024. So what do you do if you’re worried about what’s in them? You stack the administration with people who also have something at stake. Control who reviews them, the redactions, and the narrative.

People think the SAVE Act fixes a problem that already has safeguards. You already attest to US citizenship under penalty of perjury, and states verify eligibility through government databases. Non-citizen voting is extremely rare. This bill adds paperwork hurdles, not security.

If DOJ is tracking what members of Congress search while reviewing files, that’s a real issue. Lawmakers can’t conduct independent oversight if the agency they’re investigating is monitoring what they’re looking at. That deserves answers and a formal review.

Bondi’s conduct today was unprofessional and evasive. What we saw was hostility, deflection, and attacks on members asking legitimate questions. She treated a congressional hearing like a cable news segment. That might work on TV. It doesn’t work when you’re under oath.

Across the board, the GOP’s response to the Epstein files has been unserious. Jokes, deflection, silence, and culture war distractions instead of urgency or accountability. When elite abuse is minimized or mocked, it’s clear who they’re protecting and it isn’t the victims.

How many more times does this have to be said? US citizenship is already required and verified to register to vote. You must attest under penalty of perjury, and states verify eligibility using DMV/SSA records. Non-citizens can’t legally register or vote in federal elections.
