It's finally here. A labour of love.....

is the story of India's greatest triumph on the cricket field- The 1983 World Cup. You can pre-order here:
How Yuzi Chahal- a certified wicket-taker in this format for years - missed out on playing two back to back T20 world cups will remain one of the greatest unsolved mysteries ever.
Virat Kohli using high altitude mask during cardio training. A technique used by elite athletes, especially long distance runners to strengthen their lungs and breathing muscles.
No one. I repeat. No one plays the field and finds the gap like Surya Kumar Yadav. Almost computer like. No one like him in world cricket are the moment.

Virat Kohli on Rishabh Pant:
"Everyone makes mistakes, the important thing is to realise your mistake. MS dhoni once told me that if you make a mistake be sure not to repeat that for atleast 7-8 months. That lesson has stayed with me."
Year 2028:
Rishabh Pant- "Everyone makes mistakes, the important thing is to realise your mistake. Virat Kohli once told me that if you make a mistake be sure not to repeat that for atleast 7-8 months. That lesson has stayed with me."
Why not allow captains to use their two available DRS referrals for challenging waist high no-balls, wides and other such decisions that they feel the on- field umpire might have got wrong.
In 2018, an unknown 17 yr old beat Virat Kohli a few times during net practice in Johannesburg. 3 yrs later, Marco Jansen will be bowling to VK in a proper match.

When Morgan and Stokes were in the middle and KL Rahul was fielding for Virat, all 8 IPL teams were represented on the field.
Kings-Rahul
RR-Stokes
CSK-Shardul
RCB-Washy
Mumbai-Too many
Hyd-Bhuvi/Nattu
Delhi-Pant/Iyer
KKR-Morgan
Efforts by Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, in rebuilding Kuldeep Yadav's confidence may have helped Kuldeep dismiss Rohit Sharma, the Mumbai Indians skipper.

Daniel Sams leaked 35 runs in an over a month ago (the most this season) and today defends just 9, giving away only 3 runs in the final over.... Some comeback this!!!
It's clear now that Md Shami is not in the scheme of things for the T20 World Cup. Exactly why you wouldn't want an experienced, prolific wicket-taker in your team for a marquee event is beyond me.
Dare I say, Pant in his 19 tests has played more impactful test knocks than MSD (India's best ever keeper-batsman) in his 90 tests. Remarkable!

If you tell me that Sanju Samson couldn't be part of the XI in NZ ODIs owing to team combination, and that his time will come soon- I'll buy it. But him not being part of the next ODI tour to Bangladesh is a decision that defies all logic.
Wonder if MS Dhoni agreeing to be CSK captain again is an indication that he feels he's got another IPL season in him. He seems fit and is striking it well- won't be a huge surprise if he turns up in yellow next season too.

Not real-estate, nor the share-market. Doubt any other sector in India has seen such exponential growth like the

in the last 2 decades.
It’s ironic that media stalwarts that are demanding the IPL be called-off will not let go of the opportunity to discuss/cover political rallies, exit-polls & election results. Would love to see them skip the May2 poll results and bring us stories of the covid-19 crisis instead.
In a batting line-up that boasts of Rahul,Rohit,Virat & Hardik, for a man who's played less than 50 international matches to emerge as its kingpin is just incredible!

Revisiting a few predictions post the Adelaide test.
Michael Vaughan: 4-0
Ricky Ponting: Clean sweep
Mark Waugh: Four-nil
Michael Clarke: 4-0
Brad Haddin: Adelaide was India's only opportunity to win a Test.
Timely reminder that Rajat Patidar went unsold at this year's IPL auctions, and only came in as a mid-season replacement for RCB after Luvnith Sisodia's injury ruled him out.
Congratulations to Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem for becoming the second man from Asia and the first from South Asia to breach the 90m mark

How is SKY so fearless while batting?
Rohit Sharma: “That’s because he doesn’t carry any baggage. And by baggage I don’t mean suitcases- those he carries a lot because he loves his shopping. I meant he doesn’t take much pressure on himself and that’s his personality in general”
I still maintain- Rahul Tripathi's injury during the finals of IPL 2021 was a major turning point. Batting in the middle order he was crucial in KKR's success last season. Gotta be one of the most underrated batsman in T20 cricket at the moment.
“India have come to here to win the World Cup. We aren’t here to win the Cup. Us beating India would be an upset and we are aware of that. But we are aiming for an upset”
Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan ahead of the India game.
This isn’t just any 100. This is a statement of intent by Virat Kohli. From the very first balls that he faced, it was clear he wanted to send out a message.

A bit surprised to see no Arshdeep Singh in the Indian ODI squad. Jaydev Unadkat is the only left-arm pacer for the West Indies ODI series. Who would you rather have in your World Cup team this year- Arshdeep or Jaydev?
Shardul Thakur impresses in the only ODI he plays on this tour. A day later, India is playing another white ball game. Shardul was the highest wicket-taker in the last T20I series India played. Shardul is about to board a plane back to India.

Being told about your removal as captain just hour and a half before a selection meeting is not ideal. But there have been many a legendary captains in the past that weren't extended this courtesy at all- in fact, some learnt about their sacking from their friends in the media.
Agreed the deck was slow and not the easiest to bat on. But safe to assume that an Indian team with Dhoni and Yuvraj would have chased 270 tonight. They would have taken it deep and then knocked of the required 9-10 per over in the last 3 overs or so.

Gavaskar on Indian team for WI tour:
- Why make Pujara the scapegoat when entire batting failed in WTC
- WI tour was a chance to rest ODI regulars & try youngsters. Opportunity missed
- Why should youngsters play Ranji when test team picked on IPL form
🎥
Jaiswal & Rahul did NOT miss out on well-deserved 100s
Instead, Jaiswal & Rahul scored well-deserved 80 & 86
No issues with the shots they got out to. That approach allowed them to play these match-defining inngs. If we keep lamenting about centuries such knocks wouldn’t come.
The biggest positive to come out of the T20 series is
@ImRaina
's successful comeback. A brittle middle order was the only chink in an otherwise strong Indian armour.

The one upside of Rohit not captaining MI is that he’s fielding in the deep. That in turn is giving us a glimpse into his fitness levels. Which seem well above par. Just in case any ever had any doubts :)
#CSKvMI
It’s worth noting that Alex Carey collects the ball and throws it instantly- all in one motion. It’s all natural and instinctive. He isn’t waiting, in an attempt to deceive Bairstow, and then run him out deviously. Don’t think the spirit-of-cricket argument even applies here.
Would’ve been fascinating to watch a Virat Kohli led team handle Eng’s Bazball on Indian soil. Not just tactically but also their messaging, body-language & overall approach. Bet wouldn’t have been as congenial an atmosphere as it’s now. And I say it as a compliment :)

Given the ebbs and flows of a test series, here's another reminder why the title of the best test team in the world should be decided after a best of 3 final.
#WTC
You can score in the IPL and then score in tests soon after. Ajinkya Rahane is showing us how. There could be many reasons for India lagging behind in the

but IPL isn’t one of them.
