Queen Elizabeth and her amazing humanity, sensitivity and kindness. A surgeon who worked for years on the frontline in wartime areas returned to Britain from the ‘carnage in Aleppo’. He was invited to a luncheon at Buckingham Palace. Seated next to the Queen, she asked him

Every Zimbabwean has the right to freedom of expression, assembly, and association. New legislation subverts these constitutional rights, undercuts Zimbabwe’s international reengagement efforts, and is bad for business.

Zimbabwe,as a sovereign country, has committed in the Arrears Clearance process to enhancing respect for freedoms of association, assembly &expression,as well as building trust with the international community. Today's legislation sends a political signal in the opposite direction

The rights to freedom of expression and association are guaranteed in Zimbabwe’s constitution. Parts of today’s new legislation have serious implications for Zimbabweans’ ability to exercise those rights without fear, and for Zimbabwe Govt’s efforts at international reengagement.

The UK’s Annual Human Rights Report for 2022 is out today. Ahead of Zimbabwe's elections, it’s more important than ever that all can enjoy their fundamental rights to peaceful assembly, association and expression. The safety of all who defend these rights is equally important.

Loved spending #IWD with inspiring women in Vic Falls: from #Chevening scholars promoting rights in the NPA and innovation in tourism to Vic Falls’ first female councillors and a young British entrepreneur setting up a feedstock business. All power to these wonderful women!
