The Trump admin is proposing a 7% cut to @NNSANews nonproliferation programs—diverting funds to likely unnecessary nuclear weapons work. Doesn't sound like much, until you see the long term trend...

I’m so relieved: “The report said there is no leak from the waste tanks, and the nest was likely radioactive through what it called “onsite legacy radioactive contamination” from the residual radioactivity left from when the site was fully operational.”

America's current approach to strategic deterrence is not enough to protect the country from growing nuclear threats posed by China, North Korea and Russia and multiple warheads should be rapidly

The Iraq war was a bad idea for many reasons, including a invading country under false pretenses that it had WMD. What would be worse? Attacking a country with WMD precursors and then losing track of them.

This demonstrates this limits of the US bombing - HEU was likely moved & there were already questions about the whereabouts of all of the centrifuges. On top of that Iran may have accelerated enrichment at Fordow this past week.
Political Deputy to Iran's State TV Chief says Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan had been evacuated. Previously, veteran presidential candidate and member of Expediency Discernment Council Mohsen Rezaei had said Iran had transferred all nuclear material and equipment to a safe location.

The United States can destroy Irans infrastructure, but it cannot destroy Iranian knowledge. These strikes may set Iran back, but it is also likely to incentivize Iran toward the bomb. The US still needs a plan for deescalation & a long term strategy to prevent proliferation
The U.S. attacked Iran, President Trump announced Saturday, striking nuclear sites Natanz, Fordow and Esfahan.

Not all agreements need fanfare. The 1988 Non-Attack Agreement between India and Pakistan quietly ensures nuclear restraint. In times of heightened rhetoric, it's the silent pacts that often prevent the loudest catastrophes. Here's my @NTI_WMD piece
nti.org
Nuclear resilience cannot be treated as a purely technical issue. It is deeply political. And nowhere is this clearer than in South Asia.

Después de 80 años de estabilidad, el aislacionismo de Donald Trump podría llevar a que más países busquen tener armas nucleares. Sería un retroceso terrible.
