Most people saw what Demaryius Thomas could do on the field. Off the field, he was even more special.
These are just some of the videos I still have on my phone that swore I never would delete. Being around little kids was when Demaryius seemed the happiest.
Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts sent a letter to the Washington Football Team and the NFL today asking "what follow-up action is being considered" after a railing at FedEx Field collapsed Sunday night, sending fans tumbling and nearly hitting him.
Terry McLaurin: “I felt like I was on the ball the entire time. … I checked to see if I was good the first time and he was like, ‘Move up a little bit.’ So when I moved up, I checked to see if I was good, and he said I was good.’“
Ron Rivera ended his presser and some reporters said, "Thank you, Ron."
He turned around with a wide smile and said: "Oh, it's coach." Then he winked and walked off. "Just kidding," he said.
Former NFL receiver Demaryius Thomas was found deceased in his home this evening, according to Roswell, Ga., police. Preliminary information, according to police, is that his death stemmed from a medical issue.
Demaryius would've been 34 on Christmas. Incredibly sad.
The Ravens have 18 players on the COVID-19 list, the Steelers have 5 players on the list, the Broncos reportedly have no QBs and the 49ers have no practice facility or stadium.
This ... is a problem.
So, this is cool: David Bruton Jr., the former Denver and Washington safety, received his doctorate in physical therapy from CU and honored Demaryius Thomas with his graduation stole. (via

Zac Taylor said Sean McDermott's first words when he met with him and officials on the field was, "I need to be at the hospital with Damar and I shouldn't be coaching this game."
Grant Wahl was a legendary soccer writer and so much more. Don't forget he wrote THE story on Ohio high school junior LeBron James that landed him on the cover of SI in 2002 as "The Chosen One."
I still have this video by
@sportsdenver
saved too. I saw Demaryius do this often during and after practices to help younger guys with certain moves or footwork.
The back and forth between ESPN's
@Jake_Trotter
and Andrew Berry about whether the Browns or the investigators the Browns hired spoke to the 22 women who have accused Deshaun Watson of sexual misconduct:
Terry McLaurin was seen pointing at the side official to make sure he was up at the line. McLaurin just told us in the locker room that he heard the official tell him he was good.
And then he was flagged for illegal formation. McLaurin still very frustrated.
All three Glasgow brothers — Graham, Ryan and Jordan — were walk-ons on Michigan. They all eventually earned scholarships, all became starters and now all have been drafted into the NFL.

This is cool: Commanders limited partner Mitch Rales is sending his private plane to Florida to pick up Sonny Jurgensen, Billy Kilmer, Jim Hart & their spouses for Sunday's opener. Flying commercial isn't feasible for Jurgensen given his health, but Rales wanted them to be able…
The Washington Football Team is the first team in the NFL to have minorities as head coach (Ron Rivera), GM (Martin Mayhew) and president (Jason Wright), AND the first to have a Black woman as a full-time assistant coach (Jennifer King).
Dying ... 😂🤣😂
Reporter: How does Drew’s game help you to elevate your game?
Courtland Sutton: “He plays quarterback. I play receiver. He throws me the ball.”
Montez Sweat on having Chase Young back on the field: "It was amazing. He's been through so much just battling injuries — injury after injury. Just to have him out there, he's my best friend, so it's so fun having success with him."
They each had 1.5 sacks
(Great pic by the AP)
The Broncos' season ended 6 days ago and already
@VonMiller
is back in the Bay Area working with Frank Matrisciano, aka "Hell's trainer," for the 2020-21 season.

Former Washington QB Alex Smith just shared on IG that his youngest child and only daughter, Sloane, underwent an emergency craniotomy in May to remove a large and rare malignant brain tumor.
Derek Wolfe: "They beat us by a total of 10 points. I'm tired of losing, especially in Kansas City. I really hate Kansas City. REALLY hate it. I don't like coming here. I don't like anything about them except for Travis (Kelce). Travis is the only one I like over there."
Dwayne Haskins isn't talking to media. He declined when approached by team PR and promptly left the stadium.
Team PR is trying to get a hold of him remotely.
Brian Mitchell, talking on 106.7 The Fan earlier today went on a rant about Jack Del Rio, his tweets, and Ron Rivera's unwillingness to discuss them. It's long, but worth reading. Here goes:
Alex Smith will make his debut with ESPN this weekend. He’ll appear on a portion of Sunday NFL Countdown and had a sit-down interview with Patrick Mahomes.
Amid tears,
@champbailey
closed his Hall of Fame enshrinement speech with an incredibly powerful message about racism.
Encourage everyone to read this:
Broncos coach Vic Fangio had an incredible answer when asked about the team's 19 training camp practices that will be open to fans this year, the most in the league.
Jason Kelce was impressed by Sam Howell in the Eagles' two wins over the Commanders this season.
On Howell's play in Week 8: "It felt like it was death by a thousand slants."

Alex Smith is an A+ gift-giver. He gave his O-line Traeger grills with wood pellets, meat from Snake River Farms and Don Julio 1942 tequila.

Some great news: Ron Rivera's last day of cancer treatment is Monday (Oct. 26). He'll have to undergo further scans, but he said that "what I've been told is it's headed in the right direction."
Since John Elway joined the Broncos' front office in 2011 he's drafted five quarterbacks. None are still on the roster.
Brock Osweiler (2012), Zac Dysert (2013), Trevor Siemian (2015), Paxton Lynch (2016), Chad Kelly (2017)
Terry McLaurin went up to Chase Young in the locker room post-game, gave him a hug and had a lengthy heart-to-heart with him to tell him how proud he is of him.
Phillip Lindsay's (
@I_CU_boy
) 32-yard run against Pittsburgh clocked in a 22.36 MPH, per
@NextGenStats
. It's the fastest carry in the league this year.
Which makes the ending even more mind-numbing. How did he land on his feet?
I'm told Drew Lock and a number of Broncos players are going full offense, running through the playbook on their own away from the facility. Courtland Sutton, KJ Hamler, Ja'Wuan James, Dalton Risner among them. Phillip Lindsay is a regular. Jerry Jeudy joined them last weekend.
The Commanders announced they sold out their Week 3 game against the Buffalo Bills at FedEx Field.
Second-consecutive sellout for a team that was at the bottom of home attendance last year.
The Drew Lock Fan Section will take up almost an entire corner of Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. Some 40-50 friends, family members and former Mizzou teammates are expected to be there for his Kansas City homecoming against the Chiefs.
