Today is M's alive day. She is on her way to school right now. By this time a year ago I was waiting in the family room of the ER with virtually no information. Mrs. the Geek was on her way. The trauma team was fighting for her life and didn't have time to update us. She's alive

They are traveling to OKC and have been confirmed for attached housing which will have enough room for mom, dad, and the 3 older sisters who were adopted a couple years ago. That’s about all I know for now but would appreciate prayers for them all.

He is on a vent and I assume supplemental O2 and that he received surfactant. His WBC is up so they put him on antibiotics but has not required any additional intervention. His O2 and BP have remained stable. His mom was finally released from the hospital a little bit ago.

My sister in law found out she was pregnant at 12 weeks and then a couple days ago was rushed to the hospital and underwent an emergency c section at 25 weeks. The baby boy, who I’ll call DJ, was delivered and taken to a hospital in OKC. He was 2lbs 4oz at birth.

But I have half still in the original wrap and 3 left from the first pack. So it seems that even though I ordered 100 they gave me 150+. So now I'm trying to come up with 50+ folks to send the announcements too.

I'm almost halfway through M's graduation announcements. I'm using a spreadsheet to track everything and 75 total have been put into envelopes. I'm getting addresses for 4 more.

I honestly didn’t think they could get this big. My wife is like “there’s a huge spider in the bathroom.” And I figured it was like the size of a quarter or maybe even silver dollar. She big. Tip to tip I’d say over 4”. Maybe 5”. She’s been relocated outside again.

Folks, this is the time of year we have a big wolf spider in our bathroom. I think it’s been the same spider and it gets bigger every year. Last year she got to the size that I asked her to please move outside but I guess she came back for winter and good gracious is she huge.

Well, today M and I got to meet Ms Cox for an autograph and she recorded a short message for the young lady and I am just so happy it all worked out. Ms Cox was very sweet and gracious it was definitely the highlight of M’s birthday weekend.

So some of y’all might remember me reaching out to see if any of my contacts might be able to help me contact Alaqua Cox (actress who played Maya in Echo) about making a short video for a young lady who is a deaf amputee.

M has officially survived to adulthood. Well, at least 80% of her did and sure she was dead a few times there, but we still earned a passing grade on it and sometimes that’s the best you can hope for as a parent.

Shows gotta tell you up front when they are about the death of a child or a pet. This is not something you spring on someone like that! Especially someone who went through what we’ve been through and who had the week we’ve had. So I’m putting this warning out for yall.

I didn’t see it coming, but I should have. It threw Terabithia in right at the end and suddenly it all made sense. The under kingdom. The before time. Losing the light and having to find it. The clock stopping. All of it was suddenly very horrible.

There are talking animals and a BBE that can turn creatures to stone. Lion the witch and the wardrobe much? There were elements from many other stories so we had fun calling them all out right till the end of the movie.

Spoilers. So the movie is a fantasy that has a lot of elements from other fantasy stories. The male protagonist is a boy named Peter and he and his sister go on a fantasy adventure after going to a home in the English countryside.

When Mrs the geek got home I had set up a table and we ate then watched a movie. I showed her the selection and she thought this movie called the secret kingdom looked cute. And it was. Till it wasn’t.

I made a mistake. Tonight was date night and Mrs the geek was picking up takeout so I looked for some movies. It’s been a rough week so I figured a light comedy or family movie would do the trick. I found a few and added them to the list.

So the er doc thinks that messed her up pretty bad this month. And that makes sense. But I still think she needs to see the gyno. Rule out some other issues or treat them early.
