The Land That Time Forgot was a formative cinema trip for me at the age of six - and a movie I still adore. So it was a treat to track down director Kevin Connor for a chat about dinosaurs and Doug McClure, all in the latest @SFXmagazine… issue 400, no less!

A terrific, insightful interview with Peter Capaldi from @HalfThePicPod - I also want to know where he got that jumper...

The concert ended with Moonage Daydream. Bowie broke out his old “Space Hopper” mime and Ziggy was resurrected in front of us. I remember him grinning as he did this; he was clearly having fun.

He walked on barefoot, in paint-spattered overalls, entirely nonchalant about his own legend.

I remember the shadow he cast on the wall, which seemed to distil the very essence of Bowie. I was convinced it was going to break free, like Peter Pan’s.

30 years ago tonight, Bowie in Cardiff - the greatest gig of my life. Front row, pressed against the security barrier, close enough to see his mismatched eyes.

As a '70s kid The New Avengers was my gateway into the world of Steed & Co. Wonderful to see the effort that's gone into these stunning new restorations - a vivid new life for the series.

My BFI Classic on The Beatles’ film A Hard Day’s Night is available to preorder now. Here’s the story behind it. I love the cover - inspired by the film poster and a key theme in the book: the power of television in transmitting the Beatles to the world. https://t.co/gzfp98RKk1

About a year ago, while recovering from an operation, I dug out a 2007 MacBook and recorded some tunes I had kicking around. Pretty soon I’d accidentally recorded an album. It’s out today. It’s called Historical Slang and it’s by Potenco (me). Streaming everywhere now. Hooray.

What a treat to see my absolute favourite movie back on the big screen this afternoon - my first time since the summer of '81. But "It's not the years, honey, it's the mileage", right?

RIP Terence Stamp. I can heartily recommend Double Feature, one of the most beautifully written and least self-serving memoirs I’ve ever read. “I was on such an ego trip it took a while to realise the Sixties weren’t only happening to me.”

There are times I'm convinced the Debbie Harry edition of The Muppet Show is the apex of human civilisation.

Wonderfully evocative piece on the fabulous OHMSS by Jonathan Coe in The Observer.

Jonathan Coe’s parents took him to see On Her Majesty’s Secret Service at the age of eight – and it has influenced his novels ever since. It just took a chance visit to the beach where it was filmed...

Happy 50th, #JAWS, you perfect apex predator of a movie. I remember the buzz of holding this original clapperboard. It went on to sell for £70,000, which is why I'm wearing gloves - wouldn't want to devalue it with my DNA, now would we? I've got city hands, as Quint would say...
