Some of the commentary on Matt Wallner is just off the wall. The guy's in a slump. Still has a 128 career OPS+ in the majors. Still has been an above-average hitter overall this year. He's not going to the minors and he's not being traded for scraps. He's not a lost cause.

BREAKING: Cleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase has been placed on non-disciplinary paid leave as part of MLB's sports-betting investigation, sources tell ESPN. Clase is the second Guardians pitcher on leave tied to the investigation, joining right-hander Luis Ortiz.

I'm genuinely confused why anyone thinks a contending team would trade for Chris Paddack or Ty France. Those guys are not improving a playoff-caliber roster.

I know there's a tendency to respond like, "Well they built a bad team." Did they?? What were the bad decisions among all I just cited? This front office has materialized elite starters and relievers out of nowhere. You can't pass up adding/retaining talent like Royce, C4, Buck.

This season is supposed to be the culmination of everything the front office has been building. They traded for Lopez and Ryan, turned them into frontline starters. Built a mega bullpen. Drafted Lewis, extended Buxton, signed Correa. All the pieces in place. Yet the team stinks??.

This is the most disappointing Twins team I've followed in at least the last 10 years. Because you can't blame this letdown on injuries or cosmic misfortune — just a group of players with no heart and no fight.

Not by any means suggesting this will be a long-term injury for Judge, but it's wild that if his season was over today he'd still have pretty much MVP-worthy numbers.
Aaron Judge is dealing with an elbow issue, and the Yankees are sending him in for imaging. A few days ago he looked like he was in a ton of pain after this throw back in. Please baseball gods, do not do this.
