"The melding of fiction, memoir and history raises questions about the extent to which a novelist fuses the raw material of life with their fertile imagination." Georgia de Chamberet @bookblast admires @NicholasBlincoe's Oliver Twist & Me @LittleBrownUK

Georgia de Chamberet finds much to admire in Nicholas Blincoe’s Oliver Twist & Me, a dual biography of Dickens and the author’s workhouse apprentice ancestor.

#charlixcx House references Big Black's Kerosene, surely. "I think I'm going to die in this house / town"? #bigblack #stevealbini

'Free Palestine"=Racist and unacceptable. 'Death to Arabs'= Just a bit of football banter. Hope that clarifies.

If you bailed 'terrorist supporters' then you, like everyone else, believe they aren't terrorist supporters at all. Shame on you. https://t.co/CiYNMw18va

#bobvylan If two black men call out a racialised genocide, no one should be calling them stupid, attention seeking, or naive. Assume we don't know how it feels to see what is happening in Gaza, and to speak up. Definitely don't compare it to calling for the burning of refugees.

Since then the moral standing of the museum has fallen even further, pandering to genocide deniers, cheering on mass murder. Please pass on my views that the museum is an appalling moral cess pit, poorly run, stupid, corrupt and a cheerleader for the worst of evils.

Incredibly powerful investigation in Dutch newspaper NRC: Seven of the world’s leading genocide scholars — including renowned Holocaust experts — describe Israel’s actions in Gaza as genocidal. And according to them, nearly all of their peers agree.

When Francesca Albanese slammed Starmer 🇬🇧: “Israel is committing a genocide. It’s not only me saying that. It’s 100’s of legal experts, historians, genocide scholars, including from 🇮🇱 So why is the 🇬🇧 still trading weapons with 🇮🇱” The 🇬🇧 is guilty https://t.co/YNAm5hztBe

This means cheap loans for all Israels, & powers all aspects of Israeli economy. Tech start ups succeed not because Israelis are more dynamic or clever, but because of cheap loans, plus initial contracts with military and government. All Israelis benefit from settler colonialism.

Israeli settlers are not fringe actors. They've always had government support across the party spectrum. Taking over 'free' land, via colonisation, pumps the equivalent of billions of dollars into Israel's banking system, as collateral on settler mortgages ... 1/2

Sharon Osbourne insists music is supposed to unite us, not separate us. Except for the time Ozzy bit the head off a bat. That separated the head from the body. #FreePalestine
