This is not an apology. An apology recognizes and addresses the harm caused. An apology explains what went wrong. An apology promises that you will not make the same mistake again and outline how you will change your behavior. An apology offers repair.
Mayor Sim spoke with the media for 3 and a half minutes at a non related event. In a scrum of reporters who were asking about his accusations about Sean Orr on February 6th... He said the word apology 20 times and answered every question the same. Full story below ⬇️⬇️⬇️

I will never understand people who use violence and hate as a tool to push forward their agendas.

My country is mourning a national tragedy and people like you are trying to USE it — trying to USE the murder of children — for your selfish, hateful agenda. take your transphobia and shove it up your ass, you Quasimodo fuck
Imagine worshiping men so much that when one of them shoots up a school your first instinct is to apologise to them @atRachelGilmore

The less educated you are, the more likely you are to blame trans people for all your problems.

If you’re using a tragedy in BC to fear monger against trans people. You’ve got a special place in hell waiting for you.

This situation is tragic enough as it is. Let’s not make it more so.

As discourse around this situation becomes political, as it always does in situations like this, we need to remember to centre the victims. Speculation is not helpful. Demonizing groups of people for the actions of an individual is not helpful.

The mass shooting in Tumbler Ridge is devastating. My heart breaks for everyone who lost their lives and who were injured, their loved ones, for a community that lost its sense of safety, and to everyone else who has been directly or indirectly impacted.

Here's even more communication between the promoters of JK Rowling's Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play and Jeffrey Epstein, proving he was officially invited, and they discussed his inclusion multiple times:
From the Epstein files: "INVITATION — Sonia Friedman, Colin Callender and J.K. Rowling invite you and a guest to the Official Broadway Opening of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" "Please join us for supper between parts and a party following Part Two"

Do you know how many trans people are in the Epstein Files compared to terfs? #RightSideOfHistory 🏳️⚧️

It is striking how quickly some gender critical activists rush to defend J.K. Rowling from any criticism connected to Epstein. Rowling has said she did not know him and she has not publicly condemned his abuse. Others in similar circles such as Melinda Gates have chosen to speak

We'll dispute it... "Reports confirm" just means JK Rowling tweeted and a sycophantic media outlet published it, unchecked ❌ "He obtained tickets" ✅ "Refused entry at the door" ❌ Epstein showed up, but left because he needed an extra ticket for a guest. He was on the list.
I don't dispute the contents of the community note, it just doesn't address what I posted and it makes conclusions where none exist. I guess that's what happens when you let people with biases inform the "additional context."

2) I never claimed JK Rowling personally delivered an invitation, though it's still an invitation sent from her, as her name is on it and her team sent it on her behalf.

At best, Jo’s team f’d up and she needs to better select who she works with, and not have invitations indiscriminately sent out with her listed as the inviter. At worst, Jo communicated with Epstein directly and her name is one of many the DOJ had no business redacting.

As for JK Rowling’s statement of her innocence - that has to be taken with a massive grain of salt. She’s proven time and time again that she doesn’t care about facts, and plenty of people have lied about their connections to Epstein.

1) It simply cannot be confirmed that JK Rowling never communicated with Epstein. It can’t be confirmed that she did either. Beyond none of us knowing the answer to this, there are redacted emails signed Jx, which call this claim into question:

Let's address the elephant in the room - this community note. I don't use X much anymore, so I find this concept very weird. 🧵 TLDR - the “added context” is misleading and/or irrelevant.
