Fueled by a big heart and a huge passion for media, they volunteered their time outside of school hours over the April semester to conceptualise, script and film the videos showcasing the various operations of for its YouTube channel.

Project manager of “Lautan” and Year 3 MPP student, Aqilah Mazromi, said: “In order to retell these indigenous stories, we had to be open to learn from the Orang Laut, as well as from our industry partners on how to craft a story and engage our audiences.

“Lautan” means ocean in Malay. The live performance, recently showcased at the Media Playground, explores through a confluence of poetry, movement and multimedia the Singapore's indigenous community, the Orang Laut, in modern society.

Cahaya Projectors, a pioneer batch of Media Post-Production (MPP) students from NP’s School of Film & Media Studies (FMS) has collaborated with dance company P7:1SMA, and Asnida Daud, a spoken word artist and educator, for their capstone project “Lautan”.
