We have been learning about children's right and today we completed our display. It turned out great. A was super pleased with his art work which illustrates the right to be protectes from being hurt or treated badly!

We are having a Harvest foodbank collection and would be grateful for any donations for next Friday 3rd Oct. Thank you. @NewarkPrimary

We also enjoyed painting our cartouches that we made at our stay and play last week.

This afternoon we learned about mummification. We were able to order and explain each key part of the process. We even had a had a go wrapping up a mummy ready for its journey into the afterlife!

What an excellent afternoon for our stay and play! Thank you all our grown ups for coming along to help us with creating our Egyptian cartouches. They look incredible! I can't wait to see them all dried and painted! I hope you all had a lovely afternoon!

This morning we created Egyptian portraits. We focused on the use of pattern and the use of colour. They turned out great and are now proudly displayed in our classroom.

This afternoon we continued working on our musical skills through garageband. We learned about melody and were able to create our own melodies. We are one step closer to achieveing our silver level!

Today we continued to develop our rounding skills in our focus groups and Mrs Dunn helped us to create our very own Egyptian Papyrus paper!

A little reminder that P6B's stay and play is on Thursday 25th from 2pm - 2.45pm. It would be lovely to see as many parents as possible as we have a great art activity planned!

This morning we were rounding 5 digit numbers to the nearest 10, 100, 1000 and 10,000 then we enjoyed some maths activities

Session 1 of garage band today. We are working towards acieving our silver award this term. Todays session focused on rhythm. We created drum beats and shares them with our peers.

Today we had our visit from visible fiction! We all had brilliant morning and everyone really enjoyed the experience and learned some different strategies to cope with anxiety. #VFTHEIMPOSSIBLE @VISIBLEFICTION

Today for our short burst writin activity we focused on similes and metaphors. Some even challenged themselves to create poems about themselves using similes and metaphors.

This morning we started creating or flight decks for tomorrows session! These turned out brilliant, super skills on display in P6! We are excited to see how we will be using these tomorrow!

Todays as part of out talk for writing short burst we discussed how our emotions were shown. We acted out various scenarios and in groups guessed what emotion was being shown. We then created sentences where 'show dont tell' was used to describe emotions.

Today we were learning to use greater than, less than and equal to symbols to compare 4, 5 and 6 digit numbers.

Primary 6 will be having a visitor into our class on Thursday this week. In advance of this visit we have been asked to create our own flight decks. We are looking for a little of help... If anyone has empty cereal boxes could we please have them to help with our task. Thank you.

These boys were super proud of their collaboration and communication skills today as they worked together to see if they could build a kapla tower that was taller than them! These boys are loving developing their meta skills in the construction area.

Today we learned all about personification. We had some excellent personified sentences through our short burst writing activities and we even drew illustrations to match our sentences.
