A common misconception is that FASD is only found in a specific group of people. However this is not true! Within our service, our clinicians always adopt a non-judgmental approach when discussing possible pre-natal alcohol exposure.

In NHS Lanarkshire we follow best practice guidelines as outlined in the SIGN 156. In order to meet criteria for FASD, a young person must be showing significant differences in 3 or more areas of development which are detailed below.
