John Wall has been dealing with his mother's cancer (after losing his father to cancer), birth of his son, and two devastating injuries over the past year. Instead of constantly slandering him and/or his contract, send the Wall family well wishes.
Deni Avdija on what Russell Westbrook told him after the game (on NBCSW)
‘I’m gonna kill you if you don’t play like that every game, I know what you’re capable of.’
Charles Barkley on TNT: "None of those teams in the Eastern Conference want to see the Wizards with Russ and Bradley in the playoffs. ... They're going to win the play-in. I love Russ and Bradley Beal. To me, I pay to watch Russell Westbrook play basketball."
Deni Avdija not a fan of road fans taking over Cap One
"Gets me angry sometimes, honestly. Playing in your city and having the whole stadium cheering ‘Let’s Go Knicks’ … Not something you’ll see in Europe … This stadium needs to chant ‘Let’s Go DC’, that’s how it needs to be."
Spencer Dinwiddie is very unique, all of this after his media availability is over
- Seeks a

- "Lululemon in the closet, wagyu in the fridge"
- Invites the media out to dinner
- "Wine during season, tequilla in the offseason. Stay thirsty my friends." 😂
Russell Westbrook received a single 3rd place vote for MVP meaning he received more total points (5) than James Harden, LeBron James, and Kawhi Leonard combined (3).
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope says that player egos are to blame for why the Wizards initial roster this season was not successful. Says that players were complaining about roles and minutes.
John Wall: "Heck yeah, he's probably the worst [yapper] in the league. ... Boogie likes to talk junk."
DeMarcus Cousins appears at

DC: "You better talk nice about me, too."

Wizards announced a sellout (20.476) at Capital One Arena for the home opener. Even 400 sections behind the baskets were nearly full.
Kyle Kuzma says he wants to see that again next game and for the home opener not to be an anomaly.
Kristaps Porzingis on Washington D.C.
"I think I'm going to fall in love with the city honestly."
Says he already knows some good restaurants and knows there are lots of sights
Jordan Poole on Deni Avdija
“Extremely gifted, talented. Good slasher. ... Great size, athletic, can get to the rim. Being able to play alongside him on the wing, unlock him, allow him to continue to grow his game. Find ways to build a good chemistry will be exciting.”
At 2-8, the Wizards currently have the worst record in the NBA. They await word on Thomas Bryant's left knee MRI results and how long Bradley Beal must quarantine. Since the trade, John Wall has looked like his younger self, while Russell Westbrook has 135 points on 135 shots.
NBA's L2M Report confirms this was an incorrect no-call by the game officials, costs Wizards a chance at OT.
"[Huerter] delivers contact to Westbrook's side after his gather. Huerter then initiates further contact with Westbrook's left shoulder during his upward motion."
Rui Hachimura stood by himself away from the Wizards huddle during fourth quarter timeouts with 5:41 and then again with 3:37 left.
Here is a terrible picture of him with his arms folded on the right and the writing seemingly on the wall that his time in DC is coming to a close.

Bilal Coulibaly astutely on the Wizards first quarter defense (41 points allowed)
"Defensively we're not playing for each other, we're not in the rotations, we're not respecting what we're supposed to do."
Bradley Beal mentioned that he's already looking at a couple point guards for the Wizards to target for next season. He's getting a front row look at Malcolm Brogdon currently.
John Wall reflects on flowers from fans during his DC homecoming, what ifs with the Wizards, new role willingness for the Clippers, reunion possibilities in the future, and more from LA
“Couldn’t ask for nothing better from a place that I called home.”
After Kyle Kuzma finishes his interview with Glen Consor, he excitedly runs by Kristaps Porzingis' interview with Chris Miller saying, 'KP KP KP'
Bradley Beal was much more patient waiting for Porzingis to finish before dapping him up and following him to the locker room
So the Wizards didn't tweet out their recycled John Wall tribute video (as they did for Thomas Bryant last week) and the only Wall content shared was post-game with current Wizards
Plus NBCSW barely acknowledged the highly anticipated Wall homecoming during the 2+ hour broadcast
Whoever leaked the initial John Wall for Russell Westbrook news to Shams really did the Wizards in. Tommy Sheppard tried to downplay it as just common discussions, but Wall clearly took it seriously and personally for a franchise that he has given his body to.
Really feels like an unnecessary low blow to insinuate John Wall is not high character. Back to School supplies, Thanksgiving meals, Christmas presents to hundreds every year. More than half a million dollars to keep roofs over heads. John Wall is high character.
Ted Leonsis on pre-game show before the Wizards home opener on Saturday
“To be honest, I feel like I failed the fanbase the last three, four years.”

Tommy Sheppard on Rui Hachimura trade
"Trying to get more minutes for Deni Avdija I think was a really big reason behind this trade. ... Deni was playing less and less and I think that's somebody we see of as a big part of our future moving forward."
Bradley Beal confirmed how the John Wall era ended
After events during Summer 2020: “They [management] were like, we’re done.”
“It was out of my hands. I was coming to camp thinking John’s ready to go.”
“If I could go back, I wish we could’ve had [one more shot].”

Kristaps Porzingis on DC: "Fell in love with the city."
"I played some of the best basketball, if not my best season, of my career last season. I'm thankful for Tommy Sheppard who brought me there. I was able to have a good year and a half, having fun and enjoying basketball."
Bradley Beal did what was in the best interest for him and his family, which no one should boo him for in an eventual return to Capital One Arena.
What he gave to the DC community should not be overshadowed because of lacking on-court accomplishments that many are to blame for.
Bradley Beal on his own accord (when asked about his defense)
“It’s tough out here, I [got to] start talking to the refs cause I think they got something against my man Deni. Keep trying to foul him out every game.”
Bradley Beal's $251 million supermax contract with the Wizards
2022-23: $43.3 million
2023-24: $46.7 million
2024-25: $50.2 million
2025-26: $53.7 million
2026-27: $57.1 million
Montrezl Harrell shared that Sunday was his late grandmother's birthday who he was very close with. He was able to drive home to NC and see some family.
He said he then talked with Bradley Beal who lost his maternal grandmother last week to let him know the team is here for him.
Bradley Beal with words of wisdom for Deni Avdija after the game

Draymond Green on the Wizards’ usage of Kristaps Porzingis
“Looks like they’re trying to rediscover the Kristaps that we all grew to know before the injury.”
“Him and Kuz has a nice little thing going as well.”
Tommy Sheppard has unofficially been the Wizards GM since April 2019. In those 15 months with a limited salary cap, the Wizards acquired Rui Hachimura, Moe Wagner, Isaac Bonga, Ish Smith, Davis Bertans, and Jerome Robinson. Also re-signed Thomas Bryant and extended Bradley Beal.

Kyle Kuzma: "We have an opportunity to do something. There should be a lot of motivation, we got a lot of hungry dudes.
Brad just got paid and he wants to show the world that he's a winner. You don't think he's sick and tired of everybody saying he's just in DC for the money?"
