Growing up on Staten Island, everyone knows Fr Capodanno's name. I never knew his story until after joining the Navy. Truly amazing American and man of God. He died saving the lives of the Marines he was shepherding. RIP Padre.
Fr Vincent Capodanno was a U.S. Navy chaplain who earned the Medal of Honor after being killed in action in Vietnam. The Catholic Church has named him a "Servant of God," the first step on the path to being recognized as a saint. Here's his incredible story. 🧵

It was a pleasure to be a part of this team. A big BZ to Andy, who recently commissioned as a 2ndLt in @USMC after her PhD defense, on this highly salient study on #tacticalathlete performance after operational training. This has implications for military training and readiness.
Huge congrats to Andy Murray for this work! Military operational training temporarily diminishes lower body power and endurance, which may be detrimental to tactical readiness. Big thanks to @NavyPT and @DrBazettJones …check it out

When I led a research department & directorate, I always enjoyed seeing when my folks published in the scientific literature. In the manuscript that came out today, I was honored and happy when they asked me to contribute my expertise. Hot off the press.
