I had a ton of fun with language in NETHERFORD HALL, but this is definitely my favorite phrase. In a world where witches are their own peerage and represented in Parliament, there's so much room to play!. (it's been so fun to see reviewers and readers saying it. Brimstone!)

I very much like insects and bugs. I just have one rule. I took a shower last & noticed a cockroach (I live in the South). Kept on washing hoping he would just skitter away but no. He crawled over my feet. I called for reinforcements. (The rule: no unsanctioned crawling.).

Exactly! Working a dayjob is awesome for me. I’m proud of my career, I get to travel. and the stability is amazing for my family (given my twice exceptional and neurodivergent kid). But it took me a long time to see the full picture. For now, this works best.
The “don’t quit your day job” thing is going around again. A few things:. Do whatever you want, not what the internet tells you. I had a bunch of shitty/minimum wage jobs with no benefits and I make more as a writer than I ever did before. Every path is different. Do you.
