A pattern shift will support increasing severe weather chances starting the middle of next week & beyond. Mid-level troughing in the west, w/ 60+°F dewpoints in the east should result in an extended period of active severe weather from the S Plains to SE & perhaps OH Valley

Snow may lead to hazardous travel this morning, especially along Interstates 16 and 75 south of Macon. Anticipate delays and consider shifting your travel to this afternoon or evening if possible. #gawx

The central U.S. is waking up to much colder temperatures compared to this time yesterday. In fact, up to ‼️ 50 degrees ‼️ colder thanks to a very strong cold front crossing through the Gulf Coast and East Coast today. Strong gusty winds will also accompany this front. 🌬️🥶
