After a cool and quiet night tonight, much of the area remains dry with comfortable temperatures persisting into Tuesday. Chances for showers and storms then increase ahead of a mid-week front.

While I know we might be beginning to sound like a broken record. Parkersburg did once again set another record low temperature today. It has been quite the run there of late. Over the last 5 days, Parkersburg has set or tied a record low on 4 of the 5 days (set 2 and tied 2)!

The great weather continues through the balance of the Labor day weekend, including Labor Day itself. Afternoons will be comfortably warm, and tonight comfortably cool for sleeping. The only rain chance is a mountain shower or thundershower this afternoon. #WVwx #OHwx #KYwx #VAwx

A great holiday weekend will continue through Monday, with comfortably warm days yielding to cool nights great for leaving the windows open. The only rain potential at this time looks to be a few showers in and near the mountains Sunday afternoon. #WVwx #OHwx #KYwx #VAwx

No major changes to the forecast for the holiday weekend. Warm with pleasantly low humidity & partly to mostly sunny skies. It should also stay dry, except for a few showers or t-storms along and east of the mountains on Sunday, and perhaps also on Monday. #WVwx #OHwx #KYwx #VAwx

After a cold front crosses today, we return to our previously scheduled programming of high pressure. An afternoon shower or storm is possible in the mountains Sunday and Monday, otherwise we stay dry. Cool nights and comfortably warm afternoons continue. #WVwx #OHwx #KYwx #VAwx

Dry cold front interrupts the dominant high pressure system, reinforcing the cool/dry air and setting the stage for a pleasant weekend. Expect a brief warm-up this afternoon before returning to cooler, more seasonal temperatures for the end of the week into the weekend.

We'll keep this stretch of dry, mild, and low-humidity weather going through at least the weekend across the area. Mornings will stay on the crisp side for late August - and we could even see some patchy frost in the high valleys Thursday morning. #WVwx #OHwx #KYwx #VAwx

A broad high-pressure system, centered over the IN and KY border, will provide strong subsidence and associated dry and cool weather conditions through Thursday. Expect mostly mostly clear skies and light northwest flow, with pleasant temperatures. #WVwx #VAwx #OHwx #KYwx

A persistent pattern of dry and seasonably cool weather dominates. Below normal temperatures for late August, feeling more like early Autumn. Mostly dry conditions are expected. Dense river valley fog is likely each morning due to strong radiational cooling. #wvwx #vawx #ohwx
