Low pressure to bring another 30 to 60% chance of rainfall to south central and eastern South Dakota Friday, with highs in the 50s. The weather pattern is drier and warmer for the weekend! Highs Sunday will be near 70 degrees.
Chances for showers will persist today and Friday, with the weekend shaping up to be rather pleasant! Although, breezy/windy conditions will develop on Sunday. 60s and 70s for the weekend.

With rain moving into central SD this afternoon, we thought we'd share a video highlighting the timing of the rain through Thursday. Rainfall amounts are expected to be on the lighter side, with accumulations in most locations below 0.25".
The NOAA Weather Radio WNG551, located near Firesteel, SD, and covers portions of Corson, Dewey, and Ziebach Counties, will be down for maintenance today, May 1st.
Light rain will be ending over far northwestern SD 🙴 west central MN in the evening. An area of breezy winds will sweep across central to northeastern SD behind a cold front, with winds out of the west to northwest gusting 30-40 mph. Winds to diminish overnight.
Rain returns Tuesday morning moving west to east across the region before exiting far east SD after sunset. Chances of getting more than a half an inch are 45% or less. Wednesday we get a little bit of a break before rain chances return overnight and into Thursday.
