The Hall played a big role during the Long Lake wildfires, acting as the command centre for staff responding to the situation. The generator was purchased during the fires, and the community identified it as an important piece of equipment needed for future emergency responses.

Today, Minister of Emergency Management, Kim Masland, returned to Annapolis County and announced the donation of a generator to the West Dalhousie Community Hall to help with emergency preparedness efforts in the area.
