We've paused interaction on our Facebook after repeated instances of criminals posing as NJDOL to dupe claimants into providing personal info. Our UI specialists will NEVER reach out to claimants via Facebook. While we work to prevent further fraud, please continue to be vigilant

We'll do whatever we can to get more money into the pockets of our unemployed workers, but it’s important to note that this is not an extension of the successful PEUC program which provided an extra $600 -- no matter the amount of their benefit or reason for being unemployed.

Those currently collecting PUA & PEUC will see no interruption in benefits and should continue certifying weekly. Anyone whose benefits expired on Dec 26 or later will also be eligible for the 11-week extension, but there will be a lapse while NJDOL reprograms systems.

The number is staggering -- 1.35M applicants since mid-March. 1.2M of those have met the earnings requirements to receive benefits, and 96% of them have received payment. We won’t let up until every claim has received a determination and every question has been answered.

NJDOL has also sent nearly $1.3 billion in FEMA benefits to 817,000 workers. These one-time $300 payments are for those who collected unemployment during the weeks of Aug 1 - Sept 5 due to COVID-19. The max benefit is $1,800. A new round of LWA payments will be processed Friday.

States were not given time to program systems for the 11-wk extension to all claimants without delay. The frustrations our workers are feeling are taking place all over the nation right now as a result of last-minute federal action.

The first round of the grant would provide up to $300/week to claimants collecting for Aug 1, Aug 8 & Aug 15. LWA is dependent on the availability of money earmarked for disaster relief and excludes some of our lowest-wage earners, part-time workers who most need these benefits.
