Great group who fought and scrapped all year to get to this place . Fell just short of our fourth state title in 5 years to a great Brookline team. Couldn’t be more proud of this group. Loved going to war with these dudes. Thank you seniors for what you’ve helped build. #212.

Lastly, our Assistant Athletic Director, Richkaard Verrier, will depart for "greener" pastures. After two years in Needham, Rich will be donning Green and Black as he takes over as Head Athletic Director at Westwood High School.

Steph Magni is moving to a new school district and will be ending her coaching career (for now!) with the Rockets. Over the past 14 years, Steph has coached both our Softball and Field Hockey teams. Most recently, she earned Bay State Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2024.

Rob Super and Kristin Bergeron are stepping back from coaching both Unified Basketball and Track & Field. They’ve worked tirelessly with the MIAA and Special Olympics to create an exceptional experience for our students - especially those with physical & intellectual disabilities.

Dr. Robert Pritchett has resigned as Wrestling Head Coach after 12 years. Under Dr. P, the team produced eight State Champs and even a National Champion. He’s also inspired a number of alumni to return and coach alongside him.

Dave Wainwright is stepping back from Boys Lax after 22 years as Head Coach. He has had some long seasons going to back-to-back-to-back Title Games! (Nat GSoc ’23, Nee BLax ’24, Wel GSoc ’24). He led us to the State Title in ‘03, and he’s coached 49 All-Americans in his tenure.

Allisyn Furano has retired as Varsity Girls Ice Hockey Coach after an incredible 29-year career. Her accomplishments include winning her third MIAA Coach of the Year Award in 2024 and two State Championships ('99 & '03).

Chris Van Cott is officially retiring as Boys Cross Country Coach after 15 years at the helm. He graciously returned this past season to help bridge a gap, but now he’ll finally get to enjoy a season off. Thankfully, he remains our Girls Indoor and Outdoor Track Head Coach!.

Jack Costa, who coached JV Boys Soccer and Grade 9 Boys Basketball, is moving on to a new school district. He’ll be leading the Westfield Boys Varsity Soccer Team this fall. We wish him the best of luck. except if/when he plays Needham!.

A huge thank you to some of our coaches who are moving on;. Jess Davis will step back from Grade 9 Girls VB after 11 years. She’s given our students a fantastic first impression of volleyball and played a big part in their State Championship runs in '19 and '21. @NeedhamGirlsVB.
