Starting today, team members are conducting a thorough hail damage survey from this storm in Calgary. The survey will likely continue through the week.

On August 5th, the @westernuNHP & @ibhshailstudy field teams tracked an intense storm from west of Cochrane into Calgary. The teams collected detailed data, including deploying disdrometers and hailpads ahead of the storm and collecting many large hailstones. #abstorm #hail

The UAV team is out near Consort, AB today with our multispectral NDVI mapping drone (DJI M300) completing a follow up mission of the crop damage caused by the July 13th hailstorm, where we collected 50 mm #hail .#abstorm #hailresearch

The @westernuNHP field team just collected some interesting looking #hail east of Lacombe, AB. This hailstone, for example, measures 58 mm across the nodes and was likely caused by an abundance of supercooled water within the storm. #abstorm #hailresearch
