Healthcare providers, Please allow me to remind you of the skills that we learned in kindergarten: 1. Do not harm anyone 2. Say please and thank you 3. Wait your turn to speak 4. When you speak, look at the listener 5. Tell the truth when you make mistakes

Ask the patient “what questions do you have” not “do you have any questions?”. It’s subtle but I’ve noticed more ????’s being asked of me with this verbiage.
This morning, a junior doctor on the ward, her opening sentence to me & my husband; “what do you understand to be happening?” Her closing sentence; “ Is there anything else you want to ask me?” I wanted to hug her. 💜 #HaveTheConversation

When someone asks you to X (committee service, project collaboration, etc) sleep on it and decide if you have the time and interest to do it. #WomenInSTEM

Advice overheard from a maternity nurse case manager this week for a healthy, active woman, early in her pregnancy Careful lifting weights, because pregnancy leads to weak abs. As evidence of this they suggest lean forward and feel the strain on your abdominals.

Proud of the @APTAtweets and US @DeptVetAffairs partnership announced today to promote and support our Nation's Veterans. This builds on long history of support for military and Veterans by physical therapists and physical therapist assistants in the US.

Marquette Project illustrated medical policy is not readily available. Transparency is a huge problem. Until Medical Community (AMA, APTA, ASHA, AOTA, etc) make this a top priority legislatively, this WILL continue.

My buddy Earle is a rocket scientist who had a stroke 9 yrs ago. ICU docs advised his family to withdrawal care, but when his family asked him the square root of 25 he blinked 5 times clearly. He was aware. He was ‘locked in’, but with hope, he found his way out. Earle is my why.
