I’ve authorized the deployment of South Carolina National Guard Soldiers to Florida in response to Hurricane Milton. The past few weeks have reminded us of the power of neighbors helping neighbors, and we are ready to stand with Florida in their time of need.

The South Carolina National Guard represents the best of our state.  A true display of human decency and a willingness to serve.  Well done.

U.S. Soldiers assigned to the 1051th Transportation Company, 59th Troop Command, South Carolina National Guard, departed to Florida to augment the Florida National Guard in anticipation of Hurricane Milton. Oct. 8, 2024.

SOLDIER SPOTLIGHT Spc. Jamel R. Robinson, motor transport operator (88M), 1051st Transportation Battalion from Beaufort, South Carolina. Spc. Robinson has worked preparing and loading supplies onto Chinook helicopters to be delivered to areas affected by Hurricane #Helene.
