Here at Purcell Pavillion for Lipscomb Vs Notre Dame. Game set to top in a little under an hour, as expected Marcus Hammond is in street clothes and will not play.

Will tweet the link out closer to game time if anyone wants to listen, also planning on doing a postgame analysis video like I did last year.

As many of you know I’m now a Lipscomb student, tonight the Bisons head to South Bend and I’ll be on the call for Lipscomb’s student radio. Will be my first time ever calling a game so I’m not sure what to expect but can’t wait for my first game at Purcell Pavilion.

That being said, tonight isn’t the end of the world, ND should be getting Marcus Hammond back soon which could help with their assist/turnover ratio. They also have enough talent to be an NCAA tournament team and escaped without a blip on their resume. Could be much worse.

Don’t get me wrong, this is a team with immense talent, especially in the backcourt, that ran into a good team. However, they aren’t 2021-2022 UNC that could coast. There are obvious deficiencies that give them a smaller margin of error than they had last year.

ND is fortunate to get out of Purcell Pavillion with a win Tonight. They needed a wake up call like this, the narrative around this team had become that they could just walk into the tournament. This team is really talented but they probably aren’t good enough to do that.

Three things to watch/listen for in ND’s exhibition:. 1. Who is ND’s Primary Ballhandler . 2. What percentage of the time does Brey go with four guards vs two bigs. 3. Dom Campbell, JR Konieczny, and Matt Zona.

ND will informally kick off their season tonight with an exhibition against Xavier (LA). The Irish will tip off at 7pm est, the game will only be broadcast on the radio, though.

Brutal news for former ND guard, Blake Wesley. The South Bend native had made his way into the Spurs rotation just before the injury.
