This means ALL other creditors who were not part of the winding up will be made aware and can pile on and demand their repayment. Making your task much harder. Don’t bury your sand with winding up orders.

The court and creditors will likely have less sympathy for you for an adjournment. But the killer blow is that your winding up will be publicly announced in The Gazette. Why is this bad?.

If the adjournment is successful, we can find ways to keep your company running whilst finding a way to pay off the debt. Not responding within seven days has grave consequences.

1. Pay off the debt if you have the money. The easiest option. 2. If you can’t, ask the court to adjourn the winding up order to give you more time to find a way to pay.

But don’t panic. If you take swift action, things will work out. If a winding up order comes through the post, you have seven days to respond. Here are two ways to respond:.

Your creditors will issue a winding-up order when other means to collect what they’re owed have not worked. A winding up order is serious. It puts your company in compulsory liquidation. Your company assets will get sold to pay off debt.
