Myth! Babies can experience NOWS (Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal Syndrome) even when their mothers are taking prescribed medications like methadone or buprenorphine as part of treatment. This is not a sign of misuse, it’s a known and expected effect of medication-assisted treatment.
