As men, being vulnerable doesn’t make us weak. It shows strength. But not every ear deserves our truths. Some people turn our pain into punchlines. Choose carefully who we share our story with. #MensMentalHealth.

Just because someone looks like they’re doing well financially, physically and emotionally, doesn’t mean they aren’t struggling. Pain doesn’t always show. Let’s normalise checking in, even when everything seems fine. The surface rarely tells the full story. #MMV.

If we don’t help young people look internally to value who they really are & not just what they present, we’ll be peeling back these layers for decades. Self-awareness isn’t a luxury, its survival. Let’s start teaching it early #CommunityConnectionUnity .#SelfAwareness.

The more I work with young people, the more I see how deeply they feel the pressure to fit in with friends, online, and in society. Masking is everywhere. They hide their true selves just to feel enough or to be acclted.It’s exhausting, draining and it’s growing. 1/2.

End of Y10 for Big O. The first YP we started working with 2 and a half yrs ago. The bespoke timetable has done him wonders. But after a tough year, back on track and goes into his final year of school on the up. Not bad for someone who had been in 6 schools in 6 years from Y2.

Last session of Y11 for J today. One of the kindest, hardworking, resilient YP I've had the pleasure of working with. Starts a college course for the railways in September, I hope his sheer determination and the skills he's developed he continues in Further Education and life.

We were devastated when we got the news of Iains passing on Tuesday. Not only an important member or the Walk but the wider L8 community and always putting himself out to help others. His empathy knew no bounds. RIP Iain 🙏.

Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there. To all the ones who try and are not allowed, keep going the young ones grow up. To the ones who aren't with us any more. Have a thought for them. An the ones who are fortunate to have your Dads. Spoil them, life is short. 💙💛💚.

Great seeing some Y11s leaving today ones have worked with and ones who i havent. Excitement on their faces, shirts signed and no clue what the twists and turns of life that lay ahead of them.

One of our YP in care coming towards the end of his Y11 educatuon today said he wants to keep in contact with his mentor wherever he ends up in the country. MMV was created to leave lasting impressions. Everyone deserves somebody they can talk too. #CommunityConnectionUnity.

People underestimate the power of talking especially with health anxieties which affect MH. Just because something has changed for you doesn't mean that we can't adapt. There will be a therapy that works for you.

#MentalHealthAwarenessWeek another local community organisation who use sport as a vehicle to improve peoples mental health is @GTAL8FC. All about helping the local & wider areas of the city. Have developed from a football club, to basketball and walking #CommunityConnectionUnity.

Some send off Yesterday for Jacob. A measure of the man was the turnout. An if only in life he knew how much he was loved, cared for and respected. Suicide is still the biggest killer in males under 50. I can't emphasise how important talking is. Please check in on your people.

Todays shout out is to our mates @ManifestiveCIC. Helping young people working on their personal and professional selves whilst also developing confidence and self esteem. Another group that sees collaboration as important in the community. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek.
