.@AmandaBatten6 would kill HB2654, arguing that once you consent to a partner taking an intimate photo or video, you lose all rights to restrict them from sharing it with others. Consent is not a lifetime contract!

Thrilled to see Take it Down included in the Continuing Resolution- a critical first step in validating survivors, addressing harm, and strengthening protections against image-based sexual abuse & nonconsensual distribution of intimate images.

KOSA didn't make it in, but the Cruz/Klobuchar/Salazar/Dean Take It Down Act on nonconsensual did. The bill would criminalize publishing revenge and deepfake "porn" and require platforms take down upon victims' notice. A bit of civil liberties concern but Big Tech backers too

You never know if the content you’re viewing was created/shared consensually. Distributing it without consent is abuse & further harms trafficking survivors & victims of sexual violence. Our model policy protects vs this abuse. https://t.co/Jb7JDekR4H

Shocking- @elonmusk only cares about taking down copyright infringement, not nonconsensual intimate images. Prioritize people, not profits. https://t.co/iqf83wLw4F

@MyOwnImage_org urges social media platforms to adopt transparent AI policies that confront the disproportionate harm of AI-generated abuse on women. This abuse erodes trust, perpetuates gendered violence, and threats our democratic and social fabric. https://t.co/lJySfVDrRp

Sharing a person’s intimate images without their consent is a violation of their right to choose WHO, & in what CONTEXT, someone gets to view their naked body. NDII is an act of SEXUAL VIOLENCE. Abuse Material is NOT Pornography.

Called by different names — MMS scandal, revenge porn etc — image-based abuse is more rampant than we think. Here’s an important primer.

The words we use matter. When someone shares our personal, private images without our consent, it is a form of abuse. Let’s call it what it is. #exploitationnotentertainment Matt
