For dancers entering K-8, there will be a three-day Little Muskie Pom Clinic hosted by the Muskie Pom Team. The camp runs from 8-10 a.m. July 16-18 in the main gym at McKinley Elementary School (621 Kindler Ave.) The cost is $50 per child. To register:

Former MHS basketball standout Joe Wieskamp held his fourth annual camp here earlier this week. We spent a few minutes with Joe talking about the importance of continuing this camp, his last year in Australia, 3-on-3 hoops and what's next for him.

On a hot and humid Thursday, the perfect way for first-grade students to cool off was with a favorite Muskie SPARK tradition -- opening a fire hydrant for some refreshing fun in the spray!. Thank you to MPW for coming over and talking to our students about water.

Congratulations to our transportation team for earning another perfect inspection from the state (three straight years, six total inspections). Special thanks to our mechanics -- Jeff Hall, Donnie Horten and Kelly Harris. They oversee around 50 buses/vans in our district.

Our third grade Muskie SPARK students had an opportunity to take a field trip Wednesday afternoon to tour the HNI Highway 61 Manufacturing Facility. Thank you so much to Rachel Holt at HNI for leading the tour. Our students had fun visiting and asked plenty of good questions.

Muscatine High School's baseball team learned its postseason path Wednesday morning. The Muskies open substate play on Friday, July 11 against Burlington at Tom Bruner Field. First pitch is 7 p.m. Muscatine (14-7) is the No. 3 seed in the six-team substate.

Former Muscatine High School and University of Iowa basketball standout Joe Wieskamp and his wife, Makenzie, held the fourth annual Wieskamp Basketball Skills Camp on Tuesday. There were more than 125 individuals to attend the camp that focused on skill development & fun games.

Great job to our baseball team tonight! The Muskies collect the sweep over Davenport Central. The Muskies are 14-7 overall, 6-5 MAC. They are at Fort Madison on Wednesday & host Davenport North on Thursday.

The first day of Muskie SPARK was Monday. Students spent the morning doing classroom learning while the afternoon was devoted to enrichment activities. Lego engineering and gardening were among Monday's activities with the help of several Muscatine Power & Water employees.
