So...I've gone through a lot since I went on hiatus from this account in the summer. The biggest is that I realized I'm some shade of asexual, the other is that I probably have ADHD. Both of these things explain at least 90% of the problems I've had all my life.

Alterous love to me is very deep, understanding, steadfast. It is a meeting of souls in an exclusive space. It may be romantic, platonic, both, neither. It is a love that cannot be adequately categorized socially with labels such as marriage or partnership.

I’m viewing their love as an alterous relationship. While a human might perceive their relationship with this eldritch horror as a romance, the old god itself would not relate to that. Various elements of platonic and romantic love may be what move its emotions.

Getting back to pondering Yog Sothoth in Love, which went on hiatus in my brain when I discovered in June that I’m ace. I want to write a romance that I would want to read—a monster love story without sex. Loads of emotional and (some) physical intimacy. But no sex.

Did it hurt? When you realized that your amazing novel idea required you to write far above your skill level and that your characters are too smart for you?
