Dan McPhillips and his campaign continue to run their false ad, they must cease immediately with this attack, and apologize to the entire Veteran community.

Most importantly, there is no truth to McPhillips’ insinuation that I was dishonorably discharged. This is the most egregious slander. Dan McPhillips has never served in uniform himself, so he would prefer to attack my service instead.

These were two minor tickets which took place nearly 30 years ago and have never affected my ability to serve in the U.S. Navy, as a Police Officer in two separate police departments, or in the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives.

Mr. McPhillips' ad also features a photoshopped “mugshot” image of me which is particularly dishonest as I have never been arrested. I have never been booked, fingerprinted, or had a mugshot taken ever in my life.

The other two include a ticket for public drinking from 30 years ago at the age of 21, which I received and paid, and another minor ticket for a pocket knife that was quickly dismissed.

Mr. McPhillip’s ad points to a report done by Broad and Liberty which has now offered to run a record correction of their original story; of the four charges mentioned in their initial reporting two of those alleged charges do not match my full name and are not mine.

I proudly served our nation in three separate uniforms throughout my life, in the Navy, as a Police Officer, and as a volunteer Firefighter/EMT. When I left the Navy on April 29, 1997 it was at a time when the Navy was seeking volunteers for downsizing…

My opponent is slanderously lying about my honorable service to the United States Navy and has enraged military veterans from all walks of life. He needs to apologize, not just to me, but all veterans everywhere.

I hope you'll join me, Former Congressman @PatrickMurphyPA, and State Rep. @joewebsterpa for a press conference on Respect for Veterans where I will also be addressing the disgusting lies being spread about my military service. It’s time we set the record straight.
