Baba is gone. The most dominant political force in the Kenyan political landscape is gone. And with him, goes the fire, the roar, the rumble and the thunder. Baba is gone. The grand strategist, the...

You're right. In this era of High Court circuits across the country, the sessions no longer make sense. The provisions on remand and bail also need reforms. It is injustice to send accused persons on remand only for their trial to take years.
This is a good decision but its implementation is difficult if certain things dont change. A bigger part of our criminal justice system is founded on old colonial Laws and Statutes of General Application. We need to have discussions, for example on whether commital proceedings

Here is @SamMugumya’s 82 year old mother Ednansi pleading with government to at least produce her son in court and take him to prison so that she’s spared the anguish of not knowing whether he is alive or dead. #FreeSamMugumya

So, during campaign function at Kololo last week, a journalist called Mwesigwa asked President Museveni what his plan is for hospitals that are crowded and hospital equipment that malfunction in Mukono if he gets re-elected. Museveni sent Prime Minister Nabbanja to Mukono to

We still don’t know where @SamMugumya is. The courts have not yet helped in demanding that those who have him illegally produce him. The habeas corpus application ruling will be given on Friday! #FreeSamMugumya

.@SamMugumya has been missing for 144 hours. Disappeared by state operatives. They could have formally and legally arrested him, charged him and detained him in a legal, known detention if he committed a crime. Let’s all join and double efforts to demand for his release. This is

Someone just asked “HE liberated Busoga from what?!” Does anyone here know the answer? As for me, I believe what senior statistician & management theorist W. Edwards Deming said: “In God we trust, all others must bring data" And according to the numbers… 1/4

It seems nomination forms are being given to whoever wishes even without meeting basic qualifications. The academic qualification for the Presidential Candidate is senior six. Interestingly, the Electoral Commission is issuing Presidential Nomination forms to senior six students.
WATCH: Jorine Najjemba, a 20-year-old Senior Six student from Nkowe, has picked nomination forms to run for president in 2026. She says Uganda is tired of arrogant leaders and offers herself as a fresh alternative with the slogan, "Open Door, New Uganda for Everyone." #NTVNews

I was at @MakerereLaw today. The school has a nice and cool School Registrar. I hope the current Examination Officer is also nice. In the past, students at the school suffered with those two offices.

In terms of dealing with the increasing loss of life due to overspending on our roads, the intention of the policy is right, but it seems the primary objective is to profiteer capitalist, the shareholders of the company and its negotiators just made a kill.
The spirit and impetus of Express Penalty System (EPS) is from a deeper part of the hearts of policy makers/managers: Because of speeding on our roads we have lost so many! Available datasets do indicate that in 2024, at least 5,144 people were killed in road crashes in Uganda.

The reason the National Health Insurance Scheme has failed to take-off is due to the fact that MPs, ministers & other govt officials have private health insurance funded by taxpayers. Also, some of them own private health facilities & want a favourable scheme for their facilities
@Judeyatuwa1 @Atukundaisaac1 @MulagoReferral @ug_lawsociety @UgandaCancerIns @MinofHealthUG @newvisionwire @DailyMonitor @nbstv @UHRC_UGANDA When you have prepaid healthcare, you will walk to any hospital and see any doctor! The ICU beds will increase because there is paying demand!

You are right about the possibility of National Health Insurance achieving efficiency in health care services. However, the introduction of health insurance doesn't automatically lead to privatisation of public health facilities. They remain public & still function.
@BaketungaNaome @Atukundaisaac1 @MulagoReferral @ug_lawsociety @UgandaCancerIns @MinofHealthUG @newvisionwire @DailyMonitor @nbstv @UHRC_UGANDA I don’t speak for Mulago, but I can tell you like @rkabushenga once said, “you get what you supervise and not what you pay for!” With public health insurance, Mulago would be placed under a private management and you would be shocked how it turns around!
