Neither sleet nor snow nor. Today's #NationalPostalWorker Day, honoring those who deliver our letters and packages. One local postal carrier, John Barney (pictured) lost his leg in the 1880s yet continued working, delivering parcels to @MtnView families along his 25-mile route.

This #MemorialDay, we pause to reflect on & honor the brave men & women who gave their lives serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. The Mountain View Register-Leader in 1935 published a tribute to those very women & men, from @MtnViewCA & across the nation (pictured). #MemorialDay2025

On this #VEDay, we pause to salute the significant contributions #MoffettField (seen here, under construction) made in fighting and winning #WorldWar2. Victory in Europe was formally declared 80 years ago today. The airfield is still operational today. #VEDay80 #WW2 #USVeterans

Unlimited potential: While many of us are caught up in college #basketball’s #MarchMadness well underway, let’s look back nearly a century, to the 1933 Mountain View High School Unlimited basketball team. BTW, they were no longer shooting into peach baskets by then.😁 @MtnViewCA

Dress for success – especially today, #NationalDressDay! Nothing says “glam” quite like a stylish dress, just as Georgia Swall donned (pictured, circa 1900). Georgia was the wife of Lester Swall, who operated Swall’s Meat Market, on the 200 Block of Castro St. in @MtnViewCA.

Behold the #strawberry! Today is #NationalStrawberryDay, giving us an opportunity to look back to the late Nineteenth Century when these tasty little tough-ticklers were a “cash crop” many @MtnViewCA #farmers, including immigrants from a number of nations, found profitable.
