I used BCPS Classflow today for the first time and it went great! It was a fun and interactive way for students to show what they already know about the periodic table and to see some cool topics coming up in Chemistry class! #classflow #chemistry #virtuallearning

Today may have been my favorite day as a teacher thus far! I got to have my sister that is a pharmacist talk to my students about bacteria, viruses, vaccines, and antibiotic resistance to gear them up for the next unit in Living Systems called “Superbugs.” #NGSS

Ss in Living Systems chose 1 type of mutation to research, and then created a flipgrid video to share with the class. Ss were able to learn about 8 different types of mutations by watching other ss videos posted to @Flipgrid ! #NGSS #DNA #studentcenteredlearning

Ss in Living Systems are using this half day of school to analyze the results of a sunscreen yeast lab they conducted. Ss were able to see that without protection, UV radiation can cause DNA mutations that result in nonfunctional proteins. #NGSS #skincancerawareness #inquiry

Ss in Living Systems are wrapping up Unit 2 today and I wanted to share some of their awesome work! From macromolecules, to photosynthesis, to cellular respiration, students were able to understand what is in the food they eat & how they obtain energy from food! #NGSS #nutrition

Ss in living systems just finished a successful photosynthesis lab! Not only did we learn that plants can work to remove carbon dioxide, but we also learned (by a fluke in the procedures) that some plastic bottled water companies have acidic water! #NGSS #inquiry #cleanwateract
