In a wooded area (away from the pond) he wandered around and explored on his own. When we met back up he said he found a place where it felt like spring, and he spent most of the time hugging the tree. 🥰😍 I obviously asked to see that.

Time spent ‘trying to find lumber to make divots in the ice’ is always well spent. With this school year being so draining I haven’t been very good about getting us outside for exploring; I was reminded how much both of us need it.

Then one student told another she should act out a moment in their reader’s theater where her character takes a ridiculous granny shot. She happily obliged.
